About the role
Role Overview and Opportunity
This is a flexible, part-time role starting at approximately 6–8 hours per week, with room to take on more as needed.
This role is unique in that it blends traditional bookkeeping with hands-on financial support for seniors and high-net-worth clients, including bill pay, budgeting, and coordination of care-related expenses.
Responsibilities:
- Business Bookkeeping and Financial Operations
- Assist with managing QuickBooks and day-to-day business bookkeeping
- Categorize income and expenses accurately
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure financial statements align
- Maintain clean, organized financial records
- Daily Money Management and Elder Care Support
- Support seniors and high-net-worth clients with day-to-day financial management
- Manage bill pay, budgeting, and tracking of medical and long-term care expenses
- Work directly with clients to resolve discrepancies and financial questions
- Collaborate with financial advisors and accountants to ensure alignment
- Assist during tax preparation (e.g., organizing deductions, documentation)
- Potentially coordinate across multiple properties and financial obligations as well as trust management
- Provide a high-touch, patient, and service-oriented experience, especially when working with clients who may require additional support
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with QuickBooks or other finance software a plus
- Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially with complex financials
- High level of patience, discretion, and professionalism
- Experience working with or supporting elderly clients, families, or caregiving environments is a plus
- Willingness to meet with local clients as needed
Work Structure and Compensation:
- Location: Local to Westfield, NJ and the surrounding area within 25 mile radius (in-person daily money management client interaction is required)
- Hours: 6-8 hours a week, with recurring monthly deadlines
- Compensation: Starting around $25/hour, with flexibility based on experience and room for growth
- Benefits: This role does not offer benefits
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
